Consistently matching colour proofs can be laboursome especially if they have been supplied by a third party who don't have a specific press profile for your machines and substrates. Part of the UTOPIA process is adjusting files to account for the colour gamut of the press then pulling it into line with the gamut of the required standard.

Reduced waste and decreased set up time

When it comes to improving efficiencies on press, consistent plates make a huge difference. To ensure our plates are as reliable as possible we have refined our processes and invested in an upgraded imaging laser to increase the resolution. This helps us produce precise surface patterns to deliver a specific amount of ink on each impression. The effects of this are seen setting up the press where jobs come straight into colour.

Not only does UTOPIA save inks and material through reduced set up time, it also utilises UCR software to reduce the amount of CMY inks by up to 20%. This is on top of the reported up to 15% ink saving by using NX with advanced patterns.

Achieving consistency between operators

UTOPIA simplifies the printing process by being a true printing by numbers solution. During the fingerprint, press setup is assessed and optimised depending on the inks and anilox rolls available. This information is collected and supplied back to the printer in the form of a manual to show all the information for running a job.

Colour match across all print processes

All presses can be made to print exactly the same whether it is to an internal or industry standard. Matching print between Flexo and Digital isn't an issue when using UTOPIA.
